Melanie Riera

Melanie Riera is pleased to be joining the Allegra Staff this year.   Melanie began dancing at the age of six.   At the age of eleven, Melanie joined the American Youth Ballet.   During high school she became a member of the Greenwich Academy Dance Corps.   Melanie’s passion for dance continued into college where she joined Boston University’s Dance Theater Group and was elected treasurer and president of the group.   Melanie has studied various forms of dance including ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, hip hop, and ballroom.   She graduated with a B.S. degree in Communications from Boston University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.   Instructors that Melanie has studied with include Micki Taylor-Pinney, Ann Brown Allen, Margot Parsons and Rose Jackson Moye.   Melanie looks forward to working with the youngest dancers at Allegra as well as the most advanced dancers.   Melanie will also be assisting Carrie Page in the Summer Dance Camp and the Summer “Boot Camp” Intensive Programs.
