Allegra Performing Companies

All Allegra performing companies commit to a full year of performing.   Performing company members experience what it is like to put a "show on the road" by actually performing in many types of shows such as benefit shows, mall shows and annual recitals; the experience of performing.   Being a member in one or more performing companies is a wonderful experience that develops poise, teamwork and dedication to excellence.   Allegra is proud to offer eleven Performing Companies.

Allegra Jazz Kids is Allegra's youngest Jazz company.  Students who are invited into this company are students that show a rare talent in Jazz at a young age.  Students not only focus on Jazz technique but students also focus on all the aspects of being a great Jazz performer. Director: Regina LaRusso

Allegra Kids Tap Company is Allegra's youngest Tap company.  Students who are invited into this company are students that show a rare talent in Tap at a young age.  Each member has the ability to hear and copy intricate rhythm patterns in addition to demonstrating proper technique. Director: Carrie Page

Allegra Junior Ballet Elite Company:  Members of this company have had several years of Ballet training.  Students study Ballet on an Intermediate/Advanced level, in addition to Pointe.  Members who are on Pointe have been on Pointe for 2-3 years.  The focus of this company is to get through Barre work, on Pointe and across the floor exercises.  This company is a place for the student that is serious about her Ballet/Pointe training, wants to learn more and has the opportunity to perform often. Allegra Senior Ballet Elite Company members are students who have committed themselves to Ballet.  Senior Ballet Elite Company is Allegra's Advanced performing Ballet company.  Members of Senior Ballet Elite Company have been trained in Ballet technique for several years and have been performing Pointe in class and in performances for more than three years.  Students in this company study on an Advanced level learning advanced steps on Pointe, especially center floor.  Members also perform often. Allegra Teen Jazz Company members are students that have had the experience of taking Ballet and Jazz.  They understand that Ballet is the basis for all techniques and continue to make Ballet a part of their repertoire.  Students in this company focus on an Intermediate/Advanced level of Jazz technique.  The mind set of a member in this company is a serious mind that believes pushing oneself to higher goals will make a better dancer. Allegra NRG HipHop Company is Allegra's youngest HipHop company and it is full of energy (NRG).  Students who are invited into this company are students that show interest in excelling in HipHop at a young age.  Students not only focus on HipHop Style of dance but also focus on all the aspects of being a great overall performer. Director: David Gavilanes

Allegra Junior HipHop Xplosion Company is Allegra's second youngest HipHop company.  Students invited to perform as a member of this company have shown a uniqueness in "bringing the funk".  Shyness set aside, the attitude of "look what I cando" raises the interest in being a good performer.  Students focus on a Beginner/Intermediate level of HipHop, incorporating fast hand gestures and fast foot work. Director: David Gavilanes

Allegra Senior HipHop Xplosion Company is Allegra's Advanced HipHop company.  Members of this company show a level of maturity in "bringing the funk".  Students focus on an Advance level of HipHop.  They are able to move different parts of the body to different tempos.  Musically, they are able to transport different rhythms in a song into movement.  The students are able to show their own fast hand gestures and fast foot work. Allegra Senior Tap Company   Dancers learn advanced tap skills and new choreographies which will be performed during the year.   Allegra's Tap companies allow the experienced Tap Dancer an opportunity to experiment with not only classic and basic Tap skills but provides a forum to interject Hip Hop, Jazz and Broadway styles using many different types of music.   These companies perform on a regular basis  through out the year and allow the Tap Dancer to not only enhance his or her skills with cutting edge style but to perfect their performing skills.  Learning to emote and communicate with the audience, our advanced Tap Companies perform exciting and up to date tap pieces. Allegra Senior Jazz Company   A select group of advanced Allegra students will perform throughout the tri-state area during the year.  Two classical ballet classes and one jazz technique class are required. Director: Rose Jackson Moye and Carrie Page
