Tap
The study of Tap Dance is a vital part of the Allegra class offerings. Tap is a truly American dance form originating about 1928 with roots in both English Clog dancing and African rhythm. The style evolved and today we see a version of syncopated style in the current dance group Tap Dogs. The instuctors at the studio have a more current approach to the style and enjoy using current and creative music choices which make Tap dance fun and exciting. The instructors teach the basic tap steps after a warm up and then move forward on to short patterns that will combine to make the end of the season recital. Tap shoes are required for every class and, as the class is taught in a progressive way, class placement is mandatory.
